Almost Annual N.Y.S. Crappie Derby Postponed

An on again/ off again Broome County winter fishing tournament is, at least for now, off again.

The New York State Almost Annual Crappie Derby that was scheduled for January 26th is being tenatively rescheduled for February 9th due to the recent warm weather depleating the ice thickness on Whitney Point Lake.

When the event does happen, it draws thousands of people to Northern Broome County for the competition and accompanying activities.
