All Southern Tier School Budgets Pass

Southern Tier school districts can move forward with their program plans for the next fiscal year now that all proposed budget have been approved by voters.

Many of the districts implemented fairly large staff cuts in order to keep the tax increases within state mandates.

Maine Endwell is eliminating 77.9 positions.  Vestal has eliminated 19 jobs while the Binghamton City School District has reduced its job force by 54.9 positions.

Bus purchase poposals were approved in all the districts requesting the spending approval and many districts elected new board of education members.
