The Albany Great Danes are heading to the NCAA Basketball Tournament clinching an automatic bid with a 69-60 win over the Stony Brook Seawolves today at Pritchard Gymnasium.  Stony Brook had the home court advantage after finishing the America East regular season 13-3 and earning a second seed for the conference tournament.  The Great Danes came into the post-season as a fourth-seed after finishing 9-7 in conference competition.

Albany was up 34-31 at the half and outscored Stony Brook 35-29 in the second half. The Great Danes were led in scoring by Sam Rowley who finished with 18 points despite fouling out with 7:02 to play.  DJ Evans added 16 points for the Albany attack.

Albany big-man John Puk finished the second portion of the second half with four personal fouls but stayed in the game to aid in the outcome.  The win is Albany's second consecutive America East championship and puts their record at 18-14.  Stony Brook drops to 23-10.  Stony Brook is now 0-3 in championship games.
