Albany Topples Bearcats at SEFCU Arena

The Albany Great Danes upped their America East record to 11-1  with a 75-53 victory over the Binghamton Bearcats in women's basketball at the SEFCU Arena in Albany.  The win keeps the Great Danes in first place. They are battling Maine for first place in the conference. The Black Bears are 9-1.   Binghamton falls to 2-10.

Shereesha Richards stole the show with 35 points for the Greqat Danes.  Richards is the reigning America East Player of the Year.  Binghamton's Kim Albrecht scored 17 points to lead the Bearcats.  This week's America East Rookie of the Week Jasmine Sina and Sherae Swinson both scored 16 points for BU.

The Great Danes were up 34-15 at the half.  They started the second half with an 18-5 run to go up 52-20 and never looked back as they earned the home court victory. The Bearcats return home February14 for a 2 p.m. game versus New Hampshire.  Air is set for 1:45 on ESPN 1360 AM WYOS.
