While fewer flights are soon to be coming and going from the Greater Binghamton Airport, vehicles will have an easier time accessing the terminal.

Broome County officials say the Airport Road reconstruction project is being completed this week.

The $7 million undertaking involved reconstructing the four-lane road from about Stella Ireland to the Lewis Road intersection.  Guiderails, drainage and signals were also upgraded.

Motorists may still experience a few delays over the next couple of weeks as crews wrap up the minor work.

The County says it paved over 23 miles of road this year, about 18 miles more than last year.

The 2017 budget calls for spending $2.77 million for road repairs and rehabilitation.
