Ahearn Earns AE Honors

Binghamton Bearcat forward Bobby Ahearn has been named the America East Player of the Week.  Ahearn averaged 19 points and seven rebounds in two Binghamton wins last week.  Ahearn, a junior forward from Marshfield, Massachusetts hit on 75 percent of his shots going 15-20 from the field in those two victories.  Ahearn was one of the keys in a Binghamton second half surge that saw the Bearcats shock St. Francis University of Pa.. in Loretto and come out with a 73-70 victory.  He scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half.

Ahearn is now averaging 12.1 points per game for BU.  He is shooting a blistering 66 percent from the field hitting on 47 of 71 shots.  He is also hitting at a 35 percent clip from three-point range and is 21-24 at the foul line ...an .875 rate.  He is second on the team in rebounding averaging 4.5 rebounds a game.

Next up for Ahearn and the Bearcats is a trip to Hamilton, NY to face the Colgate Raiders on Wednesday night.  Tipoff is 7:00 PM with air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
