A Groton man is accused of driving with a blood alcohol content at more than twice the legal limit.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they stopped 57 year old Joel Gower at 6:17 p.m. October 7 for driving across hazard markings on Route 222 in the Town of Cortlandville.

Deputies say they determined Gower was intoxicated.

He’s charged with driving across hazard markings, driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18% or higher.

Gower had been ordered to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court at the end of October.
