The B.C. Humane Society inBinghamton is caring for a lot of cats these days, many coming in as a result of cruelty investigations. The overcrowding problem is compounded by the start of kitten season.

TheJackson Street shelter is taking extra steps to try to find loving, permanent homes for the felines while easing crowding at the agency by offering two-for-one pricing on cat adoptions.

Through May 10th, approved adopters can pick out a kitty and a playmate for their new friend at the normal single adoption fee.

On May 10th, there will be a special adopt-a-thon at the Oakdale Mall from 3-6 p.m. in center court. Other adopt-a-thon events will be held at the mall from 3-6 p.m. June 14 and July 12.  The cats and dogs that are up for adoption are all spayed or neutered and up to date on their shots.

For information, call the Humane Society at (607) 724-3709 Tuesday-Friday 12 p.m.-3 p.m. and at the society’s website: www.bchumanesc.com.
