Accused Bainbridge Road Rage Shooter to Head to Grand Jury

The case of a Chenango County Corrections Officer accused of shooting two Afton men, killing one, in an alleged road rage incident in Bainbridge will move forward to a Grand Jury.

A preliminary felony hearing was held in Bainbridge Town Court for 56 year old John Guzy on a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of 25 year old Derek D. Prindle.  Guzy is also accused of wounding Prindle’s father, 60 year old Derek S. Prindle, who remains hospitalized.

Guzy turned himself in to New York State Police minutes after the shooting in the parking lot of Peak Fitness off Route 7 at around 1:30 p.m. October 27.

The next court appearance will be in the Chenango County Court and is expected later this month.
