The Onondaga District Attorney says a former priest with ties to Broome County is being accused of possession of child pornography.

Robert Ours had been a teacher at Seton Catholic Central in Binghamton for over 10 years.

He was indicted in Syracuse and prosecutors say he faces up to six counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child under the age of 16.

Officials with the Syracuse Diocese say they have been cooperating with the investigation.  The officials also said none of the alleged incident occurred while Ours was a Priest in Broome County.

Ours ministered at the former St. Rita’s Church in Chenango Forks as well as Holy Family in Endwell.

Ours left Seton in 2011 citing personal reasons that the Diocese says were not related to the Church’s Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People.

He retired in 2012.

Ours has been living at the Tommy Coyne Residence for Priests in Syracuse.
