A Kingston Parolee is Arrested for Having a Switchblade and Drugs

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say they have rounded up drugs, an illegal switchblade knife and a man who was on probation from Ulster County.

Deputies responded to suspicious, illegally parked Vehicles on Church Street in Arkville September 23 and arrested 35 year old Francis Smith of Kingston.

The man was previously convicted of a crime and is charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say following an analysis of drugs seized, Smith could also face drug possession charges.

Officials say the Ulster County Probation Department was advised of Smith’s arrest and he was then arraigned in the Town of Middlefield.

Smith was sent to the Delaware County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.
