A Vestal woman is admitting she stole tens of thousands of dollars from the Earnest Parsons Funeral Home on Main Street, Binghamton while she was employed as a funeral director.

59 year old Helen Eickhoff pleaded guilty to felony grand larceny for the theft of over $50,000 from the home’s checking account between September 2007 and June 2010.

Prosecutors allege Eickoff used the stolen funds for personal use or for another person.  Authorities say they looked at a lot of documents, including a Christmas list found in Eickhoff’s office.

The woman could be handed at least two years in state prison, but her sentenced could be adjusted if she is able to pay $145,778.91 in restitution by her November 7th sentencing date.
