A Dog Park at Owego’s Hickories Park is Approved

The Town of Owego is giving its blessing to the development of a dog park at Hickories Park.

The Owego Dogs Owners Group “ODOG”, held dozens of workshops and public meetings and worked with the Town of Owego board to gain the approval on September 2.

The park is being made possible through a generous donation by Adam Weitsman, who owns Ben Weitsman and Son and Upstate Shredding.  The donation is fully funding the park that is to be known as the Rebecca Weitsman Memorial Dog Park. Ben Weitsmans’ sister was an avid dog lover who passed away from cancer.

A contractor is expected to be signed on by the beginning of October.
