Marist Tops Bearcats in Men’s Soccer

The Marist Red Foxes scored a goal in the first half and kept the Binghamton Bearcats off the scoreboard to earn a 1-0 victory last night at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  Mario Vukadinovic notched the only goal of the game with just under five minutes remaining in the first half to give Marist the road win.

BU was outshot 5-2 in the opening 45 minutes and had a 7-0 advantage in shots in the second half but failed to put the ball into the goal.  Marist won its season opening game 1-0 over Villanova as well and last night's win puts their record at 2-0.  The Bearcats fall to 1-1.

Next up for the Bearcats is a trip to the Duquesne Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pa. this weekend.  BU meets host team Duquesne Friday at 6 PM.  Following the weekend trip to Western, Pa. Binghamton will be home for four consecutive matches beginning with Army on Wednesday night September 10 at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
