Three months after the groundbreaking for the project at 50 Front Street, construction crews are busy with the foundation for the building that will house apartments and businesses.

Demolition of the old seven-story structure on the site that once was home to the Sheraton Inn was completed about two months ago.

Concrete has been poured for the early stages of the new building, which will include a below-ground parking facility.

Utility work for the project has been causing some traffic delays on Front Street between Leroy and Main streets.

Representatives of Newman Development Group of Vestal say they expect the 170,000-square-foot complex will be completed by the end of next year.
