3 Car Crash in Delaware County Blamed on Speed

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A New York City man is accused of speeding Monday, June 13 when his car crossed into the eastbound lane of State Highway 23 in the Town of Stamford, hitting another vehicle with such force that it spun around and hit a car parked along the side of the road.

Delaware County Sheriff’s officials say 23 year old Kevin Mathew of New York City, 37 year old William Eklund of Stamford and the occupant of the parked car, 62 year old Margaret Smith of Otego, were all taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Mathew was ticketed for failure to keep right and speed not reasonable and prudent.  He’s been ordered to appear in Harpersfield Town Court later this month.
