Meridale Man Charged After His Car Crashes and Burns

A Delaware County man is accused of drunk driving following a fiery crash in the Town of Davenport.

New York State Police say at 4:19 a.m. May 3 they were called to a report of a car on fire just off State Highway 23.

36 year old Alex Siltanen of Meridale reportedly drifted off the westbound lane, hit a pole and his car ignited.

Siltanan was taken to the hospital for evaluation but was not hurt.

The investigation is continuing and officials say they are awaiting the results of a test of Siltanen’s blood for alcohol.
