An arrest has been made in connection with a series of incidents in downtown Binghamton and on the city's West Side over the past week.

Authorities say a 13-year-old Binghamton boy faces several charges, including felony robbery and grand larceny counts.

Investigators say the youth is a suspect in a robbery near Recreation Park in which two cell phones were taken from high school students who were walking home.

The boy also is accused of taking property from someone near Court and Collier streets downtown.

In another incident, he was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a person under the age of sixteen. He is said to have fled from officers when he had a BB gun near North and Murray streets.

The teenager also was charged with criminal trespass for allegedly trying to assault a student at Binghamton High School.

The boy appeared in Broome County Family Court after his arrest. He then was sent to Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center near Syracuse.
