SUNY Broome Community College can now bestow casino management degrees on students.  The New York State Department of Education this week officially granted the Associate in Applied Science degree for the BCC casino management program.

The course currently has a bartending/beverage management class, casino games management, security and other courses under a 63 credit program.

A 300-thousand dollar casino mock-up, dubbed ‘Casino Vespa’ has been installed on the campus in the Town of Dickinson that features a craps table, roulette wheel, blackjack table a bar and the classroom facilities.

It’s expected many graduates of the program could be hired locally if one of the pending full-service casino licenses to be awarded in New York State goes to either Traditions at the Glen in the Town of Union or Tioga Downs in Nichols.
